Previous Updates and Notes forThe Julian Sands Page
August
7, 1999:
We've
changed servers! No, you don't have to change your bookmarks -- IF
you've bookmarked the www.juliansands.org domain! Typing that
into your browser window will still get you to the site. But if
you've been bookmarking pages on the GeoCities server, please update
your bookmarks now. That site will be gone
as soon as I finish writing a suitably scathing e-mail to the Yahoo!/GeoCities
people about poor customer service to paying customers and excessive
copyright greediness.... Meanwhile, if you're looking for some free
webspace of your own, I will recommend our new webspace provider: www.redrival.com.
No ads, no banners, no charge. (Not to mention no unbelievable
copyright demands on your original work...) Here's hoping the
transition to the new servers will be utterly painless....
May
16, 1999:
Well,
I have to admit it -- the best laid plans of mice and men, and all
that... While my intended monthly updates of the site didn't happen
these past few months just due to the business of everyday life,
there wasn't terribly much to be updating, with Phantom of the Opera
having apparently disappeared into Eurpean film oblivion, and no word
on any other projects. But I promised updates, and with the upcoming
release (finally) of The Loss of Sexual Innocence
on May 28, 1999, it was high time to get it accomplished. And news on
the new Mike Figgis film with Julian in the lead role is not the only
thing that got updated (thanks to two full days of hard work):
The
Filmography has been completely revamped, with separate pages for
each film that I had any information on. I hope this makes it even
easier for you to find all the information on your favorite Julian films.
I've
also started up the second annual site contest. We had a lot of fun
with this last year at about this time, and it was time to take
another go at it!
And
last, but hardly least, the old link to the Phantom
page on the contents page has been replaced by a new feature: the
Coming Attractions page, which will feature the newest of Julian's
projects due out at any given point in time -- right now, it's The
Loss of Sexual Innocence, of course!
November
25, 1998:
Kate
(Bless her!) e-mailed me today with a copy of a 1992 article from
the horror magazine, Shivers. The article is a lengthy piece on the
making of Tale of a Vampire, including some rare quotes from
Julian Sands himself. I'm still working on the accompanying images,
but the article itself is a huge find. Thanks Kate!
I've
had some more news about the premier of Phantom of the Opera in
Italy. I'm posting the information and reviews as I get them. Most of
this is coming via the Dario Argento mailing list, so if you're
interested in having the latest as soon as I'm getting it, consider
signing up for the mailing list. You can do that via the official
Dario Argento website (http://www.darioargento.org/).
November
22, 1998:
I've
started the latest updates to the site with a major cosmetic
overhaul of the entrance page, just to jazz things up a little. I'm
also hard at work on the newest sets of video-captured images from
some of Julian's films, as well as the latest news and information
from the newly-released Il Fantasma Dell'Opera. Updates to the
site are still running at a slower pace than I'd like, but hopefully
the upcoming holidays will give me a chance to get caught up again.
November
1, 1998:
After
a long period of being too busy to breathe, I finally got a chance
to continue with my video capture work. The first images
I've finished are from Vibes and Harem. I will be
working on images from three more films, and they should be ready
either later today or over the next few weekends.
I
am also working on a few updates, repairs and cosmetic changes in
the site, as well as ironing out problems with the new webring. Also,
I've been lucky enough to get some translations from Italian articles
about Phantom of the Opera from a site visitor from Italy, and
those should appear in the next weeks as well. I was not lucky enough
to be able to pick up a copy of last week's Variety, which reportedly
had some Phantom material in it, so if anyone did pick up this
magazine and can scan related materials for me, please let
me know.
Finally,
I want to thank everyone for being patient about the lack of updates
to the site in the past month or so. I've been so far beyond simply
being busy that I've been lucky to even have time to sleep. While
this will not be the rule in the future, it won't be unheard or
either. I know you may have gotten spoiled with the near-daily
updates that were happening in the last few months, but those were
primarily a result of a drive to as much done as possible before I
got busy again. The most likely rate of updates in the upcoming
months will be a compromise between once a month and once a day. I
hope you'll be pleased with the results.
October
5, 1998:
I
got some more help with our Italian to English translations for the
Phantom page. I've worked them into what we already had, and reworked
the page a little to make the flow a little smoother.
October
2, 1998:
I
received another tale for our Julian-sitings
area. It just goes to show that every once in a while, you're
going to get very lucky. Check out our newest close encounter!
September
25, 1998:
I've
started up a WebRing, to be hosted at this site. The WebRing is for
pages and sites which are about or related-to Julian Sands, and will
connect personal homepages that may be of interest to his fans. I am
actively seeking sites which wish to be part of this new webring, so
if you have a page which you think should be part of the WebRing,
please go to the webring page to learn more
about the ring and submitting your site. I am still working out a
number of coding and maintenance issues, so you can expect some
problems in these first days, but I am counting on having a few webmasters/mistresses
who wish to add their pages immediately so that I can test things
and thus insure the system is set up to function correctly. Until I
get a few pages added to the webring, the navigation won't take you
anywhere, but I'm sure we'll have a small ring going in no time.
Even if you
don't have a page to add to the webring, you can help by passing the
word to anyone you know who might have a page they'd want added to
the webring. Or, consider making up your own page. I'm not going to
require a large amount of content or images, or fancy design -- the
emphasis is on original content and interest for visitors. So if
you've considered trying your hand at your own webpage, now is the time!
I
know, I promised new images... I'm still working on them. I expect
to have them done rather soon, but between the webring project and
starting a new job, it may take a little longer than I'd hoped. Your
patience is appreciated. I'll make sure to send out a notice to the
Update Mailing List when the new images are starting to be posted to
the site.
September
6, 1998:
We
have our first tale for the new Encounters
page. This page is for those of us who've been lucky enough to meet
Julian or see him in person to tell the rest of us about their experience.
I've been waiting for someone to finally come forward with such a
story, and we got off to a good start. Check
it out!
August
31, 1998:
New
month, new calendar! While my move kept
me far enough behind on site maintenance that I didn't get to
August's calendar in time to make doing it worthwhile, I got a good
start on September's and it's ready for you to start planning by.
Vibes is once again the star, along with another showing of Warlock
on TBS, and a few rarely-seen gems for those with premium cable channels.
I
discovered an alarming number of new nude/pornographic sites advertising
themselves using Julian's name. The truly alarming thing was that
most of the pages that I found did not, in fact, have anything on
them but advertising for a site on a different server than the
original page, clearly a come-on to get people to click on a paid
banner ad or go to a paid-entrance site. It was the last straw for me
on this issue. While I can tolerate the sites which advertise nude
images of Julian (merely video captures from films in every case that
I have been able to check into), I refuse to allow others to be duped
into giving these people profit based on fraudulent use of a search
engine. I have decided to complain to the administrators of the
search engines which list these pages, as well as the servers upon
which the pages reside, hopefully helping them to eliminate this
problem and continue the search engines' intention of accurately
reporting the contents of a given page or site. I encourage you all
to do the same. For more on this, see the addendum to my Commentary
on Nudity.
August
30, 1998:
The
votes from the second edition of the site poll
have been tabulated, and the results are posted. Check out what
everyone else thought, then be among the first to cast your votes for
the third edition of the poll.
The
third edition of the Julian Sands trivia quiz
is ready. Try your best and see if you're a certified Julian-ologist!
News
and additions on a number of fronts -- see the Career
News page.
I'm
working on images from a few films. They should start appearing in
the next few weeks. Included among them: Harem, Siesta, End
of Summer and more!
August
24, 1998:
Phantom
apparently did not make its expected debut at the Venice Film
Festival this month. Check the Phantom or Career News pages for details.
Last
call for votes in the poll! The new poll will begin later this
week. So if you haven't voted in the second edition, please take a
few moments to get your votes in on our
current five questions before a new set takes its place!
August
18, 1998:
Blip
of info on possible U.S. screening(s) for Phantom in the fall, along
with a few new details on the production. Check out the Career News area.
August
17, 1998:
The
new images from After Darkness are uploaded and ready for viewing.
I
discovered that the Lifetime cable network is airing previous
episodes of the television series Chicago Hope. At some point they
should be re-airing the "Mummy Dearest" episode in which
Julian appeared. If I discover exactly or generally when this spisode
will air, I'll post a notice to the site.
August
15, 1998:
Just
doing some general maintenance and fine-tuning. I've added small
versions of the various portraits (all of which had wallpaper
versions on the site already) to the Real-Life images page. I should
have images from After Darkness uploaded by Monday. I'm also working
on the new edition of the quiz and the site poll, which should appear
in the next few weeks, so if you haven't gotten your votes in on the
second site poll or taken the second edition of the quiz, go ahead
and do that before they're retired.
I
want to recommend to anyone who's visiting this site regularly that
you try out the Beatnik audio plug-in. I
originally suggested this because the background music on the site
was in their proprietary format (I've since changed it to a MIDI
file); but having upgraded my browser recently, I lost the settings
that made Beatnik my default audio player, and there was a world of difference.
To put it clearly, the Beatnik player transforms the tinny,
electronic sound that every other audio player I've tried produces
into a true piano sound for the wonderful Franz Liszt piece
that is the current background music on the site. This is only one
example. Beatnik produces results that are literally a world away
from what you're probably hearing right now with your current audio
player. It's a free plug-in, so your only investment is a little time
to download and install it, and if you've got a newer browser, they
make that simple as well. Please try it for yourself.
August
13, 1998:
I
finally had a chance to finish the images from Black Water.
They're up and ready for viewing. I'm still working on images from
several other films, and those should be posted to the site in the
next week or so.
July
16, 1998:
The
deadline for the contest has passed, and I've selected a winner. To
see which entry won and view all of the fabulous entries, please
visit the contest page!
I've
added and revamped a few features:
the message
board has been relocated (with less advertising) - please visit!
July
13, 1998:
The
deadline for the site contest is rapidly coming up. If you haven't
already submitted your entry for the contest, you have until 12:00AM
EST on the morning of July 15, 1998 to do so. I'll take a few days to
look over the entries that I've received, and then let everyone know
who the winner is. We've had some really creative entries so far, and
it's been great to see how much fun everyone's had with the idea. I
look forward to sharing these great efforts with the other visitors
to the site.
Kate
sent me the following information: "You might be interested to
know that "Shivers" has an article about
"Phantom." Though the photos used are the same as on Dario
Argento's site, the interview with Argento is informative. According
to the article, Julian Sands was the second choice to play Erik after
John Malkovich who had originally considered the part. According to
the article, Argento was extremely happy with Sands' performance and
enthusiasm (my summary, not a direct quote.)
If you can't
find a copy of the magazine, their US address is: Shivers, Visual Imagination
Limited, PO Box 156, Manorville, NY 11949, Tel: (818)980-1727, E-mail:
vismagus@earthlink.net. For the E-mail address, it asks you to
please mention Shivers. The issue with the Phantom article is
#54." Thanks, Kate!
Today
was one of those days I spent several hours looking for new information
on the web. I didn't find much in the way of breaking news, but I
did find a series of small tidbits on a variety of subjects,
including a disturbing news report from April on a grisly murder case
in Canada that has been linked to the Warlock films. I've
added these pieces of information to the Filmography,
Career News, Biography,
Heard on the Net and Phantom
pages as appropriate.
July
12, 1998:
As
promised, I tried my hand at a Julian Sands Windows desktop theme.
It's on the Multimedia page along with the
one from Warlock: The Armageddon which I found last week. It
includes icons, cursors, wallpaper, sounds and a screensaver. It
hasn't been tested except on my own system, so let me know what you think!
July
11, 1998:
I've
added some images to the first image page.
There is one of Julian with Stephanie Zimbalist in The Great
Elephant Escape (a rare find), and a poster from Night Sun's
French release.
July
9, 1998:
I
finished up the image captures from Boxing Helena.
I've found it harder and harder to limit myself to a dozen or so
images when doing these captures, and with a clean, virtually new
copy of the film, and the rich colors, I ended up taking a lot more
than I would ordinarily like to post on a given page. I'll blame my
lack of willpower in cutting them down to a more manageable number on
lingering fatigue from the fractured elbow and on Julian's lovely
face ;).
On
a related note, in doing the captures, I again noticed a particular
scene from the film, in which Nick is outside, potting some plants
and clips a rose from the rosebushes. It reminded me that while one
of the few hobbies we know Julian has is gardening, we don't have a
lot of images of him off-screen at all. To offset that, I put
together a handful of images from that scene, along with the Vial
portrait, on a page dedicated to Julian's green
thumb.
Two
words: New Wallpapers! :)
July
7, 1998:
I've
added a Windows95 desktop theme to the multimedia
area. This theme is from Warlock: The Armageddon. If you're
thinking that you can't run desktop themes because you don't have
Microsoft Plus! with your Windows95, think again! I've provided a
link where you can download a freeware program that will let you run
desktop themes on any Windows95 system. I'm considering trying my
hand at developing a Julian Sands theme, but we'll have to see
when/if I get a chance at that.
I
finally had a chance to finish up the images from Witch Hunt.
I also did Arachnophobia (eeek!) while I was at it. Still
working on Boxing Helena, but the others are in the image
area for your enjoyment.
July
3, 1998:
My
fractured elbow (not to mention my impending move) will keep updates
and additions to the site to a minimum for the next few weeks. Meanwhile,
please enjoy the new look of the top page and the new message board,
remember to work on entries for the site contest - the deadline is
July 15, 1998!, and continue to let
me know if there are any problems with the site or suggestions
you have to improve it.
July 1, 1998:
New month, new stuff! I've added a message board feature to the site! I hope that everyone will enjoy this great interactive feature that will allow us all to share with each other, whether it's our opinions, loves, gripes, wants or needs ("...got to find a copy of Turn of the Screw!"). It's also a great way for all of us to get to know each other. So please try it out!
June
30, 1998:
I
made a small change to the location of the site today. We've moved
from http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Bungalow/1809/ to the new
address of http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/1518/. This won't make
any difference if you're accessing the site via http://www.juliansands.org/
or http://www.geocities.com/~faeryfire/, but if you've bookmarked
the longer URL for back-up purposes, you'll want to make sure to
change that bookmark to the new address. This was done to make the
site more prominent in GeoCities listings and to make it easier to
find and access for new visitors. It's kind of like moving from the
suburbs to a posh downtown district. Hopefully it won't cause any
undue problems for anyone (remember to change any links you might
have with the old address!), and it should bring even more visitors
to the site.
I
made some cosmetic changes on the top page of the site, mostly in conjunction
with submitting it for consideration for some awards, reviews and
site listing services. I hope it makes things easier for everyone, as
well, (since I dislike frames, and they've become passe anyway...).
The old index page (with my verbose introduction) is still here and
linked up, if you'd like to use it as well. Just click on either the
header or the image of Julian on the top of the new index page, or on
the word Enter right below that image.
Clarification
of the rules for the site contest: I got asked about multiple
entries! With still being a bit concerned about not having enough
entries to make a really good competition, I'm not going to limit the
number you can submit. That doesn't mean you should send me 1/2 dozen half-hearted
efforts instead of one or two real efforts. But if you're having a
hard time deciding between the pieces you've come up with to choose
what you'll submit, then you can send more than one. Just remember
two things: a) this won't really increase your odds of winning, since
there's only one winner and only one judge, and b) all the entries
will be displayed on the site at the conclusion of the contest, so
you don't want to submit anything that's not a good representation of
your efforts. Other than that, it's up to you. I'll enjoy reading/viewing/etc.
all the entries, and I hope everyone who visits the site will as well!
June
29, 1998:
I've
added images from Oxford Blues (Julian's second big-screen
role!) to the images area. Still working
on Boxing Helena and Witch Hunt. There's also a new
wallpaper, a little collage I put together.
I've
added a "Heard on the Net" page,
with some select quotes from different newsgroups and webpages.
June
27, 1998:
Due
to the increasing size and number of the reviews that I have been
adding to the filmography, I decided to give them their own page.
While I'm concerned that it will mean a lot fewer people reading
them, it was the only thing to do to keep the filmography page
loading reasonably quickly. So, please do continue to read them -
there are plenty of links on the filmography page to take you there.
I also decided that along with that change, I'd institute a ratings
system in the review area, so each of the
films I've reviewed now has its own rating on a scale of 0 to 5.
I
got an e-mail from site visitor Kate last night telling me that
Julian is to appear in a film called Autumn Heart which is due
out later this year. It appears from the film's website that it's
probably a small supporting role, as he is not even mentioned there.
There's more information on this on the Bio&News
page and in the Filmography.
Kate
also told me she'd found a photo of Julian with Jodie Foster at the
Oscars in 1989. (Foster won a Best Actress Oscar that year - the 1988
film year - for The Accused.) I've added that photograph to
both the Bio and Images
areas, so you can check it out for yourself.
Finally,
Kate sent me the surprise first entry for the site
contest, a really great comic piece, which hopefully will be
only the first of a long list of entries. See, it's not that hard!
You can do it! : )
June
26, 1998:
The
new poll is up and running, so take a few minutes and register your
picks on the five new questions.
I've
also added a review of the HBO film Witch Hunt, which I
really loved. It combines so many of my favorite things: Golden-Age
Hollywood, 40's style detective stories, a social message and Julian!
It's also just plain fun to watch. I'll be working on images from
that movie and from Boxing Helena as well in the next few
weeks, and I'll let you know when they're up on the site.
Another
reminder about entries for the site contest:
I have only had indications of one entry so far, so I'm getting a
little concerned that we're not going to have a lot of participation.
If you're planning on entering, please let me know, so that I can
stop worrying. We've got too many people visiting the site to have
only one entry! You don't have to write a novel or create a painting
worthy of Rembrandt. The winning entry could just as easily be a few
lines of poetry, a quick pencil sketch or a paragraph of prose.
(Here's another suggestion: what about taking one of the many photographs
on the site and turning it into abstract art?) Let's get those
creative juices flowing! Julian inspires enough admiration (and plain
lust!<wg>) to keep a steady traffic-flow on this site, so I
know he can inspire some creative efforts as well. Let's see them!
Don't forget - the prize for the winning entry is a copy of one of
his projects, and I'm going to do my utmost to make sure it's
something the winner will really enjoy.
June
21, 1998:
As
promised, I have tabulated the votes in the first edition of the
site poll. Click on the Poll link in the navigation at the bottom of
any page, and you'll be taken right to the results. After some early
leads by a few of the choices, things got pretty interesting, but
we've got our winners now! I'll be working on a new poll in the next
week, so check back soon to vote on a new set of questions!
June
20, 1998:
Final
call for votes in the first site poll! If
you haven't already voted, please get your votes in soon. I'll be
tabulating the votes and giving you the results in the next couple of
days. The deadline for votes will be midnight EST Sunday night, June
21, 1998, so hurry up and cast your ballot on those Julian-related questions!
I
hope everyone's brainstorming and getting starting on putting
together their entries for the site contest! You don't have to do
anything elaborate, remember. A few lines of poetry or a nice pencil
sketch are all it takes to possibly win this thing. So, let's get
creative! (Don't make me give myself the award! How embarassing!)
While
I don't have a lot of hope that we'll use it regularly, I have found
a way to get a chat room for us. It will take a few days to get operational
once I decide to do it, but meanwhile, if you think you might want
to use it, let me know. If I don't get some response, I'll assume you
won't use it, and table the idea again.
June
18, 1998:
Something
new and exciting: I've started the very first site contest! This
contest will be for the most best and most creative Julian-related or Julian-inspired
submission in a number of media. The winner will receive a copy of
one of Julian's projects. Want details? Click
Here.
GeoCities
has just informed me that they're replacing the little tags at the
bottom of all pages with a new watermark which will float above each
page. I'm not going to be polite about it: I HATE IT! It's distracting
from both the text and graphics I've worked so hard to incorporate
in this site. And, as I have informed them, if they continue with
plans to keep this watermark, I will be looking for another server.
To make it all worse, at least for now, the only way to keep your
viewing free of this watermark is to access the site via http://www.juliansands.org
instead of the longer URL I recently advised you to use to avoid
those occaisional server problems. So, I'm forced to take back that
suggestion and recommend that you use http://www.juliansands.org exclusively,
unless you try to do so and do indeed have some problems. We'll see
how this works out....
I've
been working hard tracking down a number of Julian's projects on
video. I had a lot less luck than I'd hoped. If you're looking for
yourself, I will tell you you're better off going through the
Internet retailers, as even the most comprehensive stores have a
rather limited selection. I'll also urge you to act quickly. Many of
the older projects that are still available for purchase will remain
so for a limited time. Some projects that were easy to get a year ago
are now out of print, so get them while you can.
On
a related note, the projects I haven't had any luck finding for
purchase, I've been trying to rent, so that I can continue my project
of getting some images for the site from each of them. I've already
worked on The Killing Fields, Naked Lunch and One
Night Stand, and I'll be editing those images to get them ready
for upload to the site in the next few days. I've also got a copy of The
Browning Version (Julian with facial-hair!) that I'll be working
on. I did manage to find Boxing Helena, Arachnophobia
and (amazingly-enough) Witch Hunt for purchase, and with those
safely in my personal Julian Sands film collection, I'll have new
images from those films ready in the next few weeks. If you have a
copy of one of the harder-to-find videos in your collection, and
would be willing to loan it to me for video-capture purposes, please let
me know.
I'm
still looking for those stories of meeting Julian, so if you've got
one, e-mail me!
June
15, 1998:
I
have put up the new edition of the Quiz for
this month. You've got two bonus questions this time, and you've had
a whole month to brush up on your Julianology, so let's get some high
marks on this new quiz!
If
you haven't looked through some of the new articles in my Office,
please do. I've added a brief section reminding everyone about some
good rules to follow in trying to meet Julian to compliment the other
new section on autographs.
I've
also organized the webrings and celebrity site listing services this
site is associated with in a neat little area of its own. Included in
this is a link to Star Seeker, which has chosen to add this site to
its listing. This is, in essence, an award, as Star Seeker only lists
what they consider to be the cream of the crop of celebrity sites.
I'm pleased to have had the site chosen for such an honor. If you've
got another favorite actor, one of these sites or webrings may have a
great page on them, so check and see!
If
you've been looking for Julian's films on video, you'll be pleased
to hear that One Night Stand has moved from pay-per-view
television to the video store. I haven't seen any copies for sale
yet, but most video stores have at least a few copies available for
rental. When you're considering renting this film, remember that Death
and the Loss of Sexual Innocence, also directed by Mike Figgis,
is currently in production with Julian in a lead role this time.
Finally,
I've decided to add an area where those lucky enough to have met
Julian can share their experiences with all of the visitors to this
site. If you have indeed met him, and want to share, please send
me an e-mail describing the experience and letting me know you'd
like to share it on the site. If you have already e-mailed me with
such a description, and would like to have it added as you previously
described it to this new area, please send me another e-mail briefly
describing what you told me, and I'll go right ahead and add it.
Please remember that I can't make easily make editorial decisions
where your narrative is concerned, so if you want to contribute your experience,
write it up exactly as you'd like it to appear. This is going to be
a great opportunity for all of us to share and enjoy, so if you've
met Julian - telephone conversations do count! - (and even if you
only have a few sentences to contribute), please let
me know!
FLASH! : The Fantasma Dell'Opera site now has a RealPlayer Trailer for the film - check it out!!! You may want to enter the clip's URL directly into your RealPlayer, as I had problems getting the plug-in to load from the page: http://www.darioargento.org/trailer.rpm. The site also has added some new images from the film, some of which I've transplanted here, giving Phantom it's own image page, and additionally, I have added a translation of the interview with director Dario Argento to the end of the Phantom page.

There
were a few reports of problems with the guestbook this last week. I
checked into it and discovered the root of the problem was simply a
bad link. It's been fixed and everything should be working fine now.
So if you tried to sign in the guestbook (particularly if you wanted
to be added to the update list for the site), please try again. I
also had a few additional reports of not being able to access the
site via www.juliansands.org. There's not much I can do about this
since it's a server issue, but if you make sure to bookmark the full
URL (see below), you should be fine even if the server is down. If
you are linking to this page from your site, I would suggest you use
the longer URL instead of the juliansands.org URL to make sure your
visitors can always get here.
I
have added new images for Warlock & Warlock: The Armageddon
in the Images area, and added some notes
for autograph-seekers here in the Office. I also updated the status
for several of Julian's current projects in the Bio&News
area and in the Filmography, and added
some new tidbits and a photograph to the bio.

I
want to take a moment to point out that there may occaisionally be a
problem with the GeoCities servers when you initially try to access
the site that may take you to a page that says the site's base page
cannot be found. This results from trying to access downed servers
which hold the domain-based URL (juliansands.org), and not the actual
site pages. If you find yourself in such a situation, you can access
the site via the direct route at http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/1518/.
I'd recommend you bookmark that location for future reference. It is
also listed at the site's previous AOL location if you get stuck.
Recent
additions to the site: lots more images! I've been adding images
from Julian's films over the last week or so, and that's led to
expanding the image area significantly.
There are some surprises mixed in amongst the images, so keep your
eye out!
Don't
forget to try the trivia quiz and the Julian
Sands poll. I'll be tabulating the poll results soon, so get
your votes in while you can!
I
also added a few multimedia files in the
last couple of weeks, so you'll want to check those out as well...
And
if you haven't visited the new Sitemistress' Office,
please do!

Exciting
News: I have had this site's homepage designated as JULIANSANDS.ORG!
The new URL is already up and functioning. In conjunction with the
change, the site has moved from AOL to GeoCities. This is going to be
a really great chance to improve the site even further, as it means
increasing the available server space by a whopping 500%, which means
a lot more room for those space-hogging multimedia and image files.
I
didn't get a lot of response on the issues of a mailing-list or
message board for the site, so I'll table the idea for the near future.
I'm
also looking for some help in exploring the possibility of having
the new trivia game be self-scoring. If you're an experienced web-designer
and know enough of cgi-script and/or Java to help out with this (or
you know someone who is) and are willing, please let me know.
If you have any questions, concerns or comments about the site or the move, or if you find any problems with the site at the new location (i.e.: broken links, missing images, etc.), please let me know as soon as possible.
