Site Familiar

About Me:

This site is published through the hard work of one Pagan priestess, with a good bit of help from those hardworking graphic-hounds all over the Web. To help you know a little more about the site, and why and how it was created, a little about myself:

I have been Pagan for over 8 years now. I am primarily self-taught, and prefer solitary worship in free-form or self-designed manner. I do not call myself Wiccan, but rather Pagan or Celtic Pagan, and Witch, as my ways often fall outside the traditional styles of Wiccan or Druidic rites and rituals. I worship Goddess and God, Lord and Lady, and some of the many archetypes in which they have appeared to us over the millenia, most especially their Celtic faces. I make no pretense to being a Druidess, or any such thing. There is a fine difference between ancient Celtic religion as we reconstruct it, or as we adapt it to the modern era, and simple religious belief practiced by one woman in pursuit of a closer relationship with her Gods.

Why solitary? Again, the free form nature of my worship is best served by not having to be concerned over the particulars of ritual design and others' feelings and concerns. So, instead, I put my effort into direct feelings, simply and earnestly expressed. And into making my daily life an expression of my beliefs. The title of Lady was conferred on me by my mentor some years ago. I strive to be worthy of that honor on a daily basis.

Outside of strictly religious areas, I also have interest in the gift of Empathy and Heart Healing, in interaction with our Brothers and Sisters in the natural world, and in increasing the understanding of our faiths by those who might otherwise persecute us, as well as in Celtic history, literature and music.

Curious about my name? (With a tip of my pointy hat to Patricia Kennealy Morrison,) it comes from her literary use of the term "solas sidhe", or "faerie fire", which, as she uses it, refers to a atmospheric incident of glowing light, or alternatively to a magical shield producing a similar effect.

On a personal level, I also have interest in a few other topics. Links to a few pertinent sites appear on the next page (click on the Links button, below). Included among these is my site for actor Julian Sands. (Also check out The White Rose Emporium links for links to other sites with topics related to this one.)

Above all else, I want this site to be a valuable resource to others. If you have suggestions or think of something you'd like to see here, please let me know.

I can't promise to use all (or even any) of it, but I will certainly consider any input.

Right now, future plans for this site include some beginner's articles and essays on such varied topics as Solitary practice, Empathy and relationships.
